Discriminatory Job Interview Questions with Women

Employers are prohibited from asking certain type of questions during a job interview with a woman candidate. Gender discrimination lawyers advise that this includes asking a woman whether she has children, and if so what may be their age groups. Asking the marital status of a woman may also be illegal under certain federal or state laws. Questions about pregnancy, birth control and future child planning are usually prohibited. Questions about a woman candidate’s husband may also be prohibited under the law. Women candidates who may face such questions in job interview and receive an adverse employment decision may seek legal opinion from Florida employment discrimination attorneys.
